Comprehensive evaluations that help inform, guide, and support.

At EMK Psychology, we specialize in conducting a variety of comprehensive evaluations suited to assess and address each individual.

Our Philosophy

We believe that every individual has the capacity to succeed, though success may look different for everyone. Our philosophy involves identifying an individual’s strengths so that they become confident in their abilities while also providing guidance for weaknesses so that they feel supported in their struggles. By fostering self-awareness and knowledge, individuals—whether children, adolescents, or adults—can find balance as they build upon their foundation of personal growth and develop strategies to navigate challenges.

Our Goal Through Testing

The goal of our evaluations is to help provide you with feedback and answers to your questions. Our findings may help support a diagnosis, or may simply lead to a better understanding of an individual’s strengths and weaknesses that can help determine next steps in their treatment planning or guide interventions within their educational plan.

Testimonials

I can’t express how grateful we are for Dr. Kozakis. Our oldest son has inattentive ADHD and his IEP was a mess! Along with our pediatrician (who is a parent of an ADHD child), we felt like there were additional services he could be provided, but school was not willing to add them as they felt like he didn’t need them because his reading level wasn’t low enough. Our son’s neurology office did not have any availability for a neuropsych eval for nine months and we weren’t looking to wait that amount of time with our sons education on the line. In looking for professional help to see if he did in fact need the services we found and reached out to Dr. K who patiently took us through each step with so much attention to detail and care. Not only did she perform the evaluation over a three day period in a welcoming setting, but she also reviewed his IEP with us before, spoke to our son at length (as he was 12 at the time of his eval and had a lot of input), and then made recommendations as well. In addition to her in depth evaluation and review with us, she constantly encouraged our son and reiterated how what he viewed as his limitations are in fact just obstacles to work around and over. Also, when it was time for him to move onto a new school she sat in on his annual IEP eval. Since our first meeting we still reach out annually just to have her review his updated IEP. We credit Dr. Kozakis with pinpointing and clearly stating in layman’s terms what our son needed and continues to need for his educational success.

Clarity and understanding that can inform direction for a path forward.
